I've been away for a while. Away from my home for a week. Away from the computer for even longer. Away. Hooray!
Now that the computer is in the central part of the house, I find I just don't get the time and mental space for blogging. I think of posts I'd like to share almost daily, but when I sit down to share them...someone must have spring-loaded my chair. I can't seem to sit undisturbed and post. In the past few weeks, my daughter has given up her naptime, leaving her clingy and cranky but very much awake, so I lost whatever daytime window I had. Since this isn't a particularly widely-read blog and certainly no money-maker, I can't justify asking everyone here to just pipe down and leave me be while I extol the virtues of my latest yarn purchase or share a finished sewing project (however tempting that might be). However, a big change is coming. My wee girl will soon start school. We're a Montessori family, and she recently celebrated her third birthday. She'll be starting in her big sister's class in another week or so. BIG CHANGE for my girl and for this mama. I'm not kidding myself into thinking I'll suddenly have loads of free time (HA!), but my days will certainly be different.
Within the next month or so, there will be some changes here too. I started this blog as an experiment. I chose typepad for the simple reason that many of the crafty blogs I like use typepad. But I haven't been thrilled. It drives me crazy that the typepad clock doesn't match my clock, so my posts can seem to overlap or stretch out by days that don't match my intent. There have been too many times that I've tried to log on and post only to find typepad being updated or serviced or what-have-you somewhere stateside in the middle of the night but right smack in my prime time here Down Under. It just isn't working out. I'm sorry, typepad, but I think we have to break up. Once I get my new blog space up and running, I will share that address here. In the meantime, I will post here at least three times a week to keep our relationship going, because I've missed you. I hope you've been well! What's new?
