Today is December 1st! Christmas season is officially upon us! I am a Northern Hemisphere person in a Southern Hemisphere life, so Christmas throws me for a loop every year. Christmas should be COLD. They still listen to Bing's traditional "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" here, but honey, you'll be dreaming for a looooong time. It's summer! This makes it a bit hard for me to get into the spirit. In fact, it's hard to remember it's Christmas at all! But I have kiddos, and it is my duty to make Christmas good fun! Thank goodness I have good friends who kick me into gear. Today, that thanks goes to Aussie Mum, whose blog post about her family's advent calendar saved my children from a potentially missed treat.
Knowing we won't have time to make a new one today, I dug out our origami cup calendar from a couple of years ago. Miraculously, it is intact...almost (8 is missing, but we can fix that).
At least it's up, and there are treats in Day 1! Thank you, Aussie Mum!
Oh that is such a cute advent calendar, I love all those different papers. And it survived for more than one year - how do you do that! I only put treats in day one as well because my little boys would raid a whole weeks worth given half a chance. Hope you are starting to feel a little festive.

Thanks, Aussie Mum! Our calendar only has one day's treats too. The temptation is just too much, and Little Monkey hardly needs more temptation. She's taken to climbing the cabinets and eating directly from the sugar pot whenever she's unattended. Oh, the dental bills in my future...
