Aussie Mum is due TOMORROW with baby boy #3, currently named "Puggle" (a puggle is a baby echidna; also the cutest baby animal name ever). Though Aussie Mum doesn't knit, she does notice fabulous knitted goodies in Blogland. She made a passing comment about how cute and practical this baby vest pattern looked when she saw it on SouleMama a while back. Instantly, I determined Puggle must have one! Not so instantly (ahem), a Pebble vest for Puggle has been completed. I could even put a little "(partially) Made In Thailand" label on it, because that's where it was started.
Tough life by the pool in Chiang Mai
That's where I also learned yarn sticks to fingers in humid conditions, so the vest was completed once we returned home. Now, it is waiting for Puggle...as are we!
Note to knitters: Pebble is a great little pattern! It knits up quick and easy, and it only took one ball of yarn! I used Jo Sharp's Silkroad DK Tweed (purchased from Jo Sharp herself at her new shop in Cottesloe). The buttons were hard to find (there is a dearth of buttons in Perth), but I eventually found the right ones at Crossways Wool and Fabric in Subi. I will certainly be making more of these in the future!
