Have you had the pleasure of viewing the Nanny McPhee movies? I watched them on a plane recently, and they are absolutely delightful (and delightfully English). My girls are still too young for them, but I know we will eventually own copies. There were too many special effects in the second movie compared with the first (that one relied more on dialogue and acting), but I was nonetheless sold on the second one from the opening sequence. The three kids are screaming and fighting and carrying on like feral beings in the living room, and their harassed mother (played by Maggie Gyllenhaal) bursts in, jumps up on the sofa and yells for them to stop shouting and stop climbing on the furniture. Of course, they look at her blankly, because those are the very things she is doing at that moment. Haven't we all been there?
In case you were wondering, that was me this morning. Screaming at the top of my lungs for my two precious angels to STOP SCREAMING! YELLING ISN'T NICE!
Quality parenting, thank you very much. The new neighbors must think I'm insane. I'll be waiting patiently for Nanny McPhee to drop in for tea.
